"Di Sathuirne Ghabhmi Mulad" [Saturday I Was Sad]
"L'Age d'Or" is a hauntologic mixtape. I don’t sing on it, but some ghosts of Europe past do. Tweed workers, shepherds, drinkers, mothers and lovers in the ruins of song. A meditation on what might have been and what never was, on the lost tradition of the folkloristic song, the disintegration of an idea. Another album about loss, another about hope.
It came into being while working on my album „Still“. Sort of an experimental sibling.
It features field recordings collected by the rumanian ethnologist Constantin Brăiloiu between 1913-1953.
